Cookies, Coffee, and CASA: An Open House and Information Session

March 21, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince George’s County is hosting “Cookies, Coffee, and CASA” on Tuesday, March 21st  from 6-7:30pm in the CASA office. At this open house you will learn what it means to be a Court Appointed Special Advocate and how you can help.  You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

To prepare our volunteers for their role, 37 hours of training is provided. The training consists of a total of 6 weeks of required classes that run from 6-9pm, 2 nights per week as well as one day of Courtroom Observation (8:45 am – 4:00 pm).  A light dinner will be served at each evening of training. Evening training sessions are hosted in the Fall, Winter, and Spring and daytime training is hosted in the Summer.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us for more information by phone or email.  Volunteers must be 21 or older.  Prospective volunteers must submit an application and complete phone and in-person interviews prior to training.
