PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED BY CASA
Individuals interested in becoming a CASA Child Advocate must first attend the 37 hour pre-service training. Interested individuals must first apply and be accepted into the training. Check our events section for the next pre-service training.
Training Regarding Working with LGBTQ Youth
CASA/Prince George’s County and the Prince George’s County LGBTQ Youth Task Force are able to offer free classes to Prince George’s County service providers and community members. Contact CASA if your organization is interested in training child service providers on working with LGBTQ youth.
Child Welfare and Abuse Awareness
CASA staff provide trainings and presentations to a variety of audiences to raise awareness regarding child welfare issues and provide instruction on the signs of child abuse. To request CASA staff to train your staff or organization, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 301-209-0491.
Change a Child’s Story
Children in foster care who have aCASA volunteer are more likely to succeed in school and adjust to change. And they’re half as likely to re-enter the foster care system later. By getting involved with CASA, you can make all the difference for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect in you community. Get involved, and change a child’s story.
