FREE AND/OR INEXPENSIVE SUMMER ACTIVITIES:
Prince George’s County Library Programs – County libraries are busy all summer long! Go to www.pgcmls.info/, click on “Events & Programs” on the left of the home page or call the library branch closest to your child’s neighborhood; click on the TeenCenter and KidsCenter tabs at the top of the page to find more resources.
Prince George’s Parks and Recreation Programs
All participants must have an M-NCPPC ID Card; IDs are issued at M-NCPPC community centers. Children (ages 6-17) must be accompanied by an adult (over 18—parent/guardian preferred but not necessary) and bring proof of Prince George’s County residency (for example, a report card). Children in foster care can be registered by their foster parents and fees for the ID card are waived.

Summer Playgrounds and X-Treme Teens Safe Summer Program
Summer Playgrounds is a drop-in program for ages 6 -12. Registration required – $25 fee for entire 6-week session (6/28-8/6, M-F, 9-3).
Xtreme Teen Centers (ages 13-17) drop in program – registration required — $25 fee for entire 6-week session (6/28-8/6, M-F, hours vary)

The Blue Ribbon Project is a organization committed to proving a support network for youth in foster care. The Blue Ribbon Project Foster Friends helps provide activities for children in foster care. This program provides financial assistance for extra-curricular activities such as sports, music, dance, camps, karate, or tutoring.
