In-Service Training: Trafficked Boys: Bringing Male Victims of Human Trafficking Out of The Shadows

January 25, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.  The Department of Family Services will host a Men’s Challenge — Living Together Without Violence Initiative session tomorrow, Tuesday January 25th, at 6:00 pm virtually.

Jerome Elam is the President and CEO of Trafficking in America Task Force.  He was raised in a broken home by an alcoholic parent.  He is a survivor of child abuse/domestic violence, child sex trafficking, and child pornography.

His presentation is titled Trafficked Boys: Bringing Male Victims of Human Trafficking Out of The Shadows.  Male victims of sex trafficking have historically been an invisible population. Recent developments have begun to raise the curtain on the expansive number of young boys being sexually trafficked in this country. During his presentation, he will present:

– a comprehensive look at the issue of child sex trafficking

– the evolution of the male victim

– strategies for the education and prevention of child sex trafficking

– alternatives for the after care and recovery of male victims
