Joining CASA’s Board of Directors
Members of CASA’s Board of Directors fulfill legal and fiduciary responsibilities of the organization; contribute to fundraising and marketing and serve as ambassadors for the organization, helping to guide and advance the mission and vision.
We are actively seeking board members with finance, fundraising, and corporate relations expertise.
Expectations:
● Attend an orientation, board development workshops and board meetings four times per fiscal year (CASA’s fiscal year is July 1-June 30)
● Actively participate in committee meetings and complete assigned action items.
● Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director.
● Review outcomes and metrics for evaluating CASA’s impact.
● Approve the annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions.
● Identify and recruit new Board members for recommendation to the Governance Committee.
● Utilize existing network, resources, and skills to advance CASA’s goals.
Desired Qualifications:
●Professional/leadership experience in relevant sectors.
●Commitment to and understanding of CASA’s beneficiaries.
●Diplomatic skills and ability to cultivate relationships.
●Integrity, credibility, and passion for improving the lives of foster youth.
●Passion for CASA’s mission and a track record of Board leadership.
●Leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.
●Ability to attract other high-performing Board members.
●Experience and knowledge of fundraising and finance.
●Opportunity to expand network and contribute to the community.

Members of the Board of Directors are eligible to serve a maximum of three consecutive 2-year terms. The Board is led by an executive committee and all members participate actively on committees. The committees are actively working to improve CASA’s public presence in the community and to recruit additional members to serve on the Board.
