Human Trafficking 101
Human trafficking, especially sex trafficking of children and youth, is a growing concern nationally. Maryland is ranked as the fourth highest state reporting human trafficking and Prince George’s County is reported as the second highest county within the state. Labor trafficking is also a major concern in the State and in the County.
This training will include:
- Definitions of Human Trafficking
- General Statistics
- Risk factors and indicators
- Grooming and recruitment
- Key tools and best practices for working with survivors
- Scenarios and case studies with small group discussions
- Short videos featuring survivors sharing their experience in the Maryland Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice system.
