CASA Fostering Opportunities Fund
What is the CASA Fostering Opportunities Fund?
The CASA Fostering Opportunities Fund will allow CASA to dedicate $50,000 to fund opportunities for youth over the next 12 months. This fund will continue to replenish annually until all funds are expended.
An anonymous donor has worked extensively with the juvenile court system in Prince George’s County and has seen youth in foster care denied childhood experiences similar to that of their non-system involved peers. They have also witnessed the positive impact a CASA volunteer can have on a child.
Our donor believes that our 20 years of experience in best interest advocacy paired with the close-knit nature of the relationships we establish, uniquely positions us to steward these funds, and ensure that youth have access to enrichment opportunities that will aid in their emotional, physical, and educational growth.
What will this fund cover?
The CASA Fostering Opportunities Fund will provide current and former youth in foster care access to opportunities that they would not have otherwise. Funds can support experiences, needed items, or emergency support. Some examples of funded opportunities include but are not limited to:
- summer camp fees
- gym passes
- an extra pair of glasses
- credit recovery
- apartment accessories
How does someone receive funding?
Requests for funds can come from any individual connected to youth in foster care. Fill out and submit this quick form. CASA will then review the request and transfer approved funding immediately. We expect to be able to approve most requests within 72 hours. In some cases, additional information will be requested and CASA will work with you to acquire the needed information to move the process forward.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We want to distribute these funds and help support children & youth reach their full potential.
