Maryland CASA Association is presenting a webinar, “Treatment Foster Care: What do you want to know?” and YOU are invited! Current CASA volunteers can receive in-service training credit by informing their Case Supervisor of their attendance and noting the webinar on your volunteer activities form.

The webinar will attempt to answer questions about what is Treatment Foster Care, how it can be effective in meeting the needs of children and their families, and help in the clarification of the role which the CASA volunteer can play in increasing its effectiveness. National standards and Maryland regulations will be presented along with current research on treatment foster care’s effectiveness, and current challenges. Therapeutic Foster Care at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Trauma Integrative Model will be use as one example of a Treatment Foster Care Program in Maryland . Participants should come prepared with any and all questions.
About the presenter
Paul Brylske, MSW, LCSW-C
Paul Brylske is the Director of the Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program at Kennedy Krieger. He is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland and a board certified diplomat in social work. Since 1975, Brylske has worked in various professional capacities with families and their youth who have experienced trauma and developmental disabilities and have been in residential placements, foster care or adopted. Brylske has been instrumental in the development of the Kennedy Krieger Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress, TFC Program. In addition, he has developed the program’s capacity to provide respite through the implementation of local, state, and federal grants.
Brylske has presented throughout the United States and Canada on issues related to treatment foster care, adoptions, and respite. This has primarily been in the areas of program implementation, parent training, and program outcomes.
