“[The children] have not done anything wrong,” CASA Executive Director Ann Marie Binsner told the AFRO. “Hopefully the families can pull themselves together. Our young people have experienced trauma in their lives, sometimes multiple trauma. It is something that most people never experience in a lifetime. Mental health issues are a big concern.”
Change a Child’s Story
Children in foster care who have aCASA volunteer are more likely to succeed in school and adjust to change. And they’re half as likely to re-enter the foster care system later. By getting involved with CASA, you can make all the difference for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect in you community. Get involved, and change a child’s story.
